Please say it's just a phase!!

So Sydnee still hasn't quite got the crawling thing down. She does however have the backward crawling thing down very well. She's been going through this phase of "I want mommy and I want her to hold me all the time." YAAAAAA!!! This started to happen ever since I watched this cute little 4 month old girl for a couple of days. I thought to myself "Hey Syd can get used to having another child around so she doesn't think she is the only baby alive." Yeah right. She got so jealous and Bella, the cute little 4 month old, can only lay down and roll, she can't sit up, so Sydnee thought "if she gets attention from laying down and not doing anything then I'm going to throw myself back everytime mom or dad try and sit me down." That is not like Sydnee because she has been able to sit on her own since she was 4 months old. So, to have her all of a sudden throw herself back anywhere and everywhere you try and sit her down is not what a call pleasant. So now when she does that when we sit her down on the carpet then we let her do it and cry a little so she knows that is hurts. Don't worry we don't let her do it all the time because that's just mean, but she needs to know that it's not fun for her or mom and dad. She used to scoot around the house on her butt like a dog would if it had an itch and that is how she got around and get into everything. Now we almost always put her on her belly so she can start to really try and crawl. It is so funny watching her try and crawl. She sticks up her butt, straightens her legs and pushes with her arms (Hence the scooting back instead of going forward) It's pretty funny and cute. Oh by the way she still sits up, but only when she is against the couch, in her stroller, and high chair. When those things are behind her she sits up just fine, but she doesn't even use them. Yeah don't ask me why. (I think she gets it from her father :o)

The wonders of TV

When I exercise in the mornings I turn on the "Your Baby Can Read" DVD and Sydnee will just stare at it. She loves it. I think that is where she has learned how to clap and click her tongue. Now lets just see if she'll learn how to crawl from this DVD also. :o)

Flash Card Babies!!

I ordered some flash cards from Usbourne Books from my mom and I wanted to see was Sydnee would do with them. SHE LOVES THEM!!! She sat there for an hour looking at them, showing them to me, throwing them , then picking them up to look at them again!!! It was so entertaining and very relaxing because I didn't have to do anything. When she would show them to me I would read to her what the baby was doing and she would start to laugh. I loved it!!! During all this we were listening to the stories on CD from the Farmyard Tales Book and she loved all the sounds that the animals make. That was a great afternoon!!!

First boo boo

A couple of Sundays ago Sydnee was sitting right in front of her wood toy crate just laughing, talking, squealing, and have a good ole' time. Then comes daddy. He kissed her. He kissed her on the forehead then ran up the stairs and didn't look back. (sounds like your typical male huh? :o) Anyway, I was in the kitchen so when she started to squeal I thought she was doing her happy squeal. Oh boy was I wrong. When the squeal kept going and finally broke into a blood curdlying scream I knew something was wrong. She face planted it right into the toy crate and she was in so much pain that she couldn't figure out how to move off the crate. I honestly wished I got a picture of it, but instead I ran to her, picked her up and told her how mean her daddy was. Just kidding :o)!! I ran to her, picked her up and then handed her to her daddy so she knew that her daddy loved her and didn't mean to give her such a forceful kiss on the forehead, which then made her sling shot forward, face first into the crate. Looking back it was actually kind of funny, but during it she did not stop crying for 10 minutes straight and it was so sad. But she is over it and the battle wound is long gone!!! Great times!!

When Sydnee doesn't want to go to bed

Well Sydnee has been really teething for a few weeks now, and let me tell you, it has not been fun at all!!! Still no teeth have cut through, but her gums are very hard, swollen, and in pain. For awhile she would not fall asleep unless I was holding her and if any of you know my daughter she is a very independent sleeper. She will only fall asleep after I have fed her and in her own bed with no one in the room, so having her only fall asleep with only me holding her was a huge shift in mine and her routine. Finally I bought some teething tablets and those have saved our lives. She is now back to her routine of falling asleep by herself. (Although it took a couple days of really letting her scream it out and turning the monitor off so I couldn't hear her very sad and tear jerking cry.) We finally did it. Well these pictures were taken during one of those nights that she wouldn't go to sleep after us trying to let you cry it out for a couple of hours. Yes, very rough night. As soon as we got her, however she stopped crying and brought on the smiles. She is a terd and dang it a very cute terd. We couldn't stop laughing at her that night. She was being so dang cute with her dad. Well, eventually she got way to exhausted to even lift up her head that I fed
her one more time and put her into bed and she slept through the night. Hooray!! And that my friends is the story of our very cute terdy baby girl!!!

Love the Grandparents

For conference weekend Brandon, Sydnee, and I went up to visit Grandpa and Grandma Nebeker. It was not a very fun trip on the way up there because Sydnee only slept maybe 2 hours the whole way up. By the time we got there Friday night she was extreemly exhausted and very grumpy, so when mom and dad tried to hold her, she wasn't too happy. But, by the next morning she was loving Grandpa and Grandma and she still does. We show pictures of them to her all the time and she just smiles and tries to eat them. It's pretty cute!!

Fold your arms

A couple of weeks ago Brandon and I were saying our usual morning prayer for breakfast. Usually while we do this Sydnee gets this huge smile on her face and starts to giggle. It's like she knows exactly who we are talking to and knows what Heavenly Father is saying back. We think it is so funny and so cute. Well this time we start to pray and nothing. We don't hear anything. So, naturally after the prayer we open our eyes and look at Sydnee. She had this cute little grin on her face, like "look what I'm doing" and her fingers were folded together, like she was just doing something she has always done. We loved it and it made us realize that is never to early to teach and it is never to early to start doing.

Look what I can do Mom!!

Sydnee thinks it is hilarious when you put her on the couch like this. She loves when Brandon is on the computer at the kitchen table and I say "Where's Daddy?" and she cocks her head to one side to try and peak around the computer to find Daddy and she starts laughing so hard when Brandon starts to play peek-a-boo with her around the computer. Oh how I wish I could be a baby again and get entained like that for a very very long time.

Bathtime

So I realized while I was giving Sydnee a bath for the millionath time that I have not yet taken any pictures of her in the cute hooded towel that Aunt Jami made her for my baby shower, so I decided that is was time to show her and the towel off. Thanks Jami!! Oh by the way in this first picture I don't know if you can tell, but she is pinching her left nimple, and after she realized what she was doing she looked at me like I was the one hurting her. Don't ask me why because she is just one crazy little baby girl. (she's like her dad :o)
